OUR FOUNDATION'S MISSION

The 10th Mountain Division Foundation supports efforts that honor the 10th mountain division and perpetuate its legacy.

We fulfill this mission by funding, advocating, collaborating, and communicating in support of soldiers, families, veterans, and organizations connected to the 10th Mountain Division. Through these efforts, we preserve the Division’s history, strengthen its community, and ensure its impact endures.

From memorials and historical collections to scholarships and outdoor experiences, we invest in the people and programs that carry the legacy forward – connecting past, present, and future generations.

LINKING THE LEGACY THROUGH CONNECTION

Honoring where we have been, supporting those who serve today, and investing in those who will carry it forward.

Our Story

The 10th Mountain Division Foundation was built on a simple and powerful promise: to honor those who served and ensure their legacy continues. What began as a single act of remembrance has grown into something much greater.

Where it began

TENNESSEE PASS, COLORADO

In the 1950s, veterans of the 10th Mountain Division came together at Tennessee Pass, Colorado to build a memorial honoring their fallen comrades. What began as a tribute was rooted in something deeper. It was a shared commitment to remember those who served and those who sacrificed.

A Foundation is formed

FROM TRIBUTE TO RESPONSIBILITY

After completing the memorial, those veterans chose to carry that responsibility forward. They established the 10th Mountain Division Foundation to preserve and build upon the legacy they had created.

Past, present, and future

EXPANDING THE LEGACY

What began as a memorial effort has evolved into a philanthropic organization that supports the full scope of the 10th Mountain Division story, from its origins in World War II to its role as one of the most deployed divisions today. That story continues through the soldiers, families, and communities connected to it.

The Foundation today
CONTINUING THE MISSION

Today, the Foundation invests in programs and partnerships that honor service, preserve history, and strengthen the 10th Mountain Division community. Through memorials, historical preservation, scholarships, and outdoor experiences, we ensure the legacy is not only remembered–but lived.
