Major Gen. (Ret.) Galen Jackman

Brief info

Major General (Retired) Galen Jackman is the President of GBJ Solutions LLC, a consulting firm in the Defense and Aerospace Industry. He served 35 years in the United States Army and eight years with Raytheon.

In the Army, Galen commanded at every level through the rank of Major General. He served in Infantry, Ranger, and Special Operations units throughout the world including the Europe, Middle East, Pacific, and Latin American regions. He served in three Joint Assignments and is skilled in the training, deployment, and employment of Army, Marine, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard assets, including those of the Reserve Component in conventional, unconventional, and counter terrorist operations. He has worked extensively with the State Department, CIA, FBI, DHS, Secret Service, and state and local authorities. As his final assignment, he served as the Chief of Legislative Liaison and was the Army’s point man in Congress.

Galen served as the Vice President for Army and Special Operations Forces Programs at Raytheon, a major US defense and aerospace company. He was responsible for business development with the Army and Special Operations Forces (SOF) customers. He worked closely with senior OSD, Army, and SOF leaders to develop business opportunities and forge capabilities to best serve the customers’ requirements. He coordinated company strategy and information to the US Congress related to the Army and SOF customers. Galen has served on numerous boards of directors. He served for nine years as the President of the National Association of the 10thMountain Division and is currently the Chairman of the Board.

Galen has been married to his wife Cathy for 38 years. Cathy enjoys a long history of service to Military Families. They have two sons. David is an Army Special Forces NCO serving in 1st Special Forces Group, and Patrick is a mechanical engineer in New Orleans, Louisiana.
