Italy 2022 10th Mountain Descendants Trip – POSTPONED UNTIL NEXT YEAR
Every three years, the 10th Mountain Division Descendants travel to Italy and follow in the footsteps of the WWII 10th Mountain soldiers. With COVID-19, this trip has been postponed in recent years but our friends in Italy are gearing up for a visit. This trip is open to Descendants and the public. Anyone interested in the trip should contact InterTrav by mid-January at 630-377-5840.
The itinerary includes a pre-trip to Normandy and Paris, and the main trip kick-off in Florence followed by travel to the Hill towns, Lake Garda, and on to Slovenia. A “Hill Towns Only” tour will also be offered.
The high-level itinerary dates are as follows:
- Pre-Reunion Tour Normandy and Paris: May 31-June 4, 2022.
- 10th Mountain WWII Tour: June 4-20 2022. This is the complete tour that follows the 10th Mountain’s combat route through the Hill Towns, the Po Valley, and the Lake Garda region, as well as it’s post-surrender duty in present day Slovenia.
- 10th Mountain Hill Towns Only Tour: June 4-13, 2022. A shortened tour including Florence, and combat sites leading to the Po Valley breakout.
